Heavy Smoker

Outstanding 99.93% Collection Efficiency × Effective Capture of Oil Smoke and Fine Mist

Heavy Smoker (HVS Series) is a mist collector designed to handle oil smoke. It captures 99.93% of fine particles 0.3 μm and larger and is capable of handling oil smoke generated by high-speed machine tools and high-pressure coolant. It can also capture smoke-level fine mist that is difficult to collect with conventional filter-type mist collectors, helping reduce haze inside factories and improve the working environment.

3 Reasons to Choose Our Oil Smoke Mist Collector

POINT.01

Effective Capture of Oil Smoke and Fine Mist

One of the causes of white haze inside factories is fine oil smoke.

Heavy Smoker comes standard with a HEPA-class final filter and captures 99.93% of fine particles 0.3 μm and larger.

It is also designed to handle oil smoke and smoke-level fine mist, helping improve air quality in machining environments.

POINT.02

High Collection Performance and Long Service Life

High-performance filters can be prone to clogging.

Heavy Smoker uses a proprietary multi-stage collection structure to separate coarse contaminants such as metal chips and oil droplets in the initial stages, reducing the load on the final high-performance filter.

This helps maintain high collection performance while also extending maintenance intervals.

POINT.03

Tool-Free Maintenance Reduces Workload

Each unit uses a cassette-style design, allowing it to be pulled out for cleaning or replacement without the use of tools.

Magnetic knob nuts and procedure labels also make the maintenance steps easy to understand, resulting in a design that is practical and easy to handle on-site.

This helps shorten maintenance time and minimize the impact on production operations.

What Is the Multi-Stage Collection System in an Oil Smoke Mist Collector?

Mist collectors require maintenance as long as filters are used. When collecting oil smoke and fine mist in particular, preventing filter clogging is essential.

Heavy Smoker uses a proprietary multi-stage collection system. By capturing contaminants in stages, from coarse particles to fine particles, it helps reduce the load on the filters.

It is an oil smoke mist collector that combines high air cleanliness with extended maintenance intervals.

ONIKAZE’s Multi-Stage Collection Structure

Feature 1

Multi-Stage Collection from Coarse Contaminants to Fine Mist

Our proprietary multi-stage system distributes the load across multiple filtration stages.
The first-stage baffle unit separates metal chips and heavy oil droplets, followed by the louver unit and three-layer drum filter, which capture the remaining mist.

This pre-separation process reduces the load on the final high-performance filter, helping maintain a collection efficiency of 99.93% while extending maintenance intervals.

Feature 2

Final Filter Captures Oil Smoke

The final stage is equipped with a HEPA-class final filter.
It captures 99.93% of fine particles 0.3 μm and larger, making it suitable for collecting oil smoke generated by high-speed machine tools and smoke-level fine mist.
As an oil smoke mist collector, it helps improve air quality in machining environments.

Options

Rear Cover with Gauge

The pressure gauge allows you to check the condition of the final filter.

It supports more objective decisions on filter replacement without relying on visual judgment or experience, and allows easy on-site checking without the use of digital equipment.

The FU-220, with approximately three times the filter media area, can be retrofitted to the HVS-40.

Its longer filter service life helps reduce the frequency of filter replacement and also contributes to reducing waste.

FAQ FAQ

Q1What applications is the HVS Series designed for?

The HVS Series is a high-performance mist collector designed to capture water-soluble mist and oil-based mist generated by machine tools.

In addition to general mist, it can also handle fine mist and oil smoke generated under more demanding machining conditions.

Q2Do I need a dedicated optional filter to collect oil smoke?

No, it is not required. Unlike conventional mist collectors that may require an additional optional filter for oil smoke, the HVS Series can capture both mist and oil smoke with its standard configuration.

Q3What is the collection efficiency?

The HVS Series is equipped with a HEPA-class final filter and delivers industry-leading performance, capturing 99.93% of fine particles 0.3 μm and larger. This helps create a cleaner working environment while protecting workers’ health and sensitive electronic components in machinery.

Q4Is it safe to collect mist that contains metal chips?

Yes. Immediately after entering the inlet, the mist strikes a metal baffle unit that separates and captures coarse contaminants such as metal chips and iron particles at an early stage. This significantly reduces the load on the downstream filters.

Q5Are vibration and noise a concern?

The HVS Series uses a proprietary structure that separates the turbo runner (impeller) from the drum filter, helping achieve low vibration and low noise levels.

Q6Are the Filters Easy to Clean and Replace?

Yes. The HVS Series uses a tool-free cassette system that allows each unit to be pulled out without tools for easy maintenance. Maintenance labels are also attached to key parts of the unit so that routine work can be performed without referring to the instruction manual.

Q7Can the Filters Be Cleaned and Reused?

The upstream louver filter and three-layer drum filter can be cleaned by soaking them in water with detergent or by brushing, allowing them to be reused repeatedly.

However, the final-stage final filter cannot be cleaned or reused. As a general guideline, replace it with a new one every 1–2 years, depending on the amount of mist generated.

Q8Are there any materials that should not be collected?

This unit is designed exclusively for water-soluble and oil-based mist. Never use it to collect sparks, high-temperature materials, flammable substances such as varnish or paint, or explosive materials such as magnesium, as doing so may cause fire or explosion.

Q9Can the HVS Series be shipped overseas?

Yes. ONIKAZE Heavy Smoker (HVS) can be equipped with a wide range of motors compliant with overseas standards, including UL for the United States, CSA for Canada, GB for China, and CE for Europe, as well as motors for different voltage specifications.

Available as an optional configuration.

Q10What is the correct way to handle drainage?

Submerge the drain hose from the pre-treatment box in the collected liquid, and leave the drain hose from the main unit open to the atmosphere without submerging it.

Because the inside of the pre-treatment box is under negative pressure, the drain will not discharge properly unless the hoses are set up this way.
